According to Celebrity Net Worth, Pineda’s career in music started following a series of hardships that included the loss of his mother at a young age, life on the streets, and collecting recyclables to survive. He first performed with local bands like ‘Ijos’ and ‘Amos’ (per Medium).

Later, the singer got more opportunities in the field, opening for Robert Palmer in the Philippines.

Pineda’s breakthrough came after Neal Schon discovered him on YouTube in 2007, Celebrity Net Worth further wrote. Impressed by his rock covers, Schon invited him to audition for Journey. The 57-year-old replaced Steve Augeri as the lead singer the same year and released his first album with the band, ‘Revelation,’ in 2008.

The record achieved platinum status, selling over a million copies and re-establishing Journey’s relevance in the music industry, Medium reported. Live shows also brought in good earnings exceeding $35 million.

As of today, Pineda’s net worth is estimated between $20 million and $30 million (per Medium). His income primarily comes from his work with Journey, including album sales, concert revenues, and merchandise, as well as solo efforts that includes three albums and collaborations with other artists. Nichess lists him as the fifteenth richest person in the Philippines.

Still, his fortune couldn’t surpass that of Steve Perry, which stands at $70 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Perry’s wealth includes royalties from hits like ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ in addition to solo ventures.

Pineda continues to lead Journey. His next show with them is set for January 18, 2025, at The Amex Golf Tournament in La Quinta, CA.
